about me
Ray Plocharczyk is a New York City-based actor and a graduate of Marymount Manhattan College, where he earned his BFA in Acting. Since a very young age, Ray has always been fascinated in the arts, whether it was forcing his siblings into performing elaborate, 3-act-long puppet shows with a cast of at least 30 different characters, filming movies on his Blackberry Playbook such as “Clifford Destroys the World,” or give an Oscar-worthy performance as the title character in “The Little Red Hen,” Ray has always been a deeply creative person, for better or for worse.
Ray became fully immersed in acting in high school, taking acting classes throughout all four years and being in as many plays and musicals as he could get his hands on. This dedication fueled his passion in college, performing a wide variety of roles such as Hamlet in “Hamletmachine” and the Chorus of Old Men and many other characters in “Lysistrata.” He also took part in the development of new works such as “Rundown” and the performing of Zoom productions such as “Give Me Liberty.” In college, Ray also discovered his passion for film acting, and since graduation has completed work on a number of short films and hopes to grow this passion and take it to new heights.
When he’s not acting, Ray enjoys fervently updating his Letterboxd and adding to his DVD collection, as well as binging reality TV shows such as “Rupaul’s Drag Race,” “The Traitors,” and his current obsession, “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.” He hopes you enjoy reading this as much as he enjoyed writing it!
